VahanScan (“App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), developed and operated by Ltrands Technologies Private Limited, is committed to safeguarding the privacy of automobile mechanics, vehicle owners, and workshop technicians. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, processing, and protection of information when you use our mobile application and website.

VahanScan operates primarily as an offline-first vehicle diagnostic scanner. We do not sell, rent, or trade your vehicle telemetry or diagnostic data to third parties.

2Information We Collect

VahanScan collects only the necessary technical information required to perform vehicle diagnostics via standard ELM327 Bluetooth scanners:

Vehicle Diagnostic Data (OBD-II PIDs): Real-time engine telemetry including RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature (ECT), throttle position (TPS), mass airflow (MAF), battery voltage, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs - Mode 03, Mode 07, Mode 0A).
Vehicle Identification (VIN): Mode 09 calibration numbers and 17-character VIN used locally on your device to identify vehicle make, model year, and ECU protocol.
Bluetooth Device Identifiers: Hardware MAC address and pairing name of nearby or connected ELM327 OBD-II Bluetooth adapters.
Device Technical Info: Android OS version, device model, and crash logs to improve app stability and protocol compatibility.

3App Permissions & Their Purpose

BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT / BLUETOOTH_SCANRequired to discover, pair, and exchange serial diagnostic commands with your ELM327 OBD-II Bluetooth adapter.

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (Android Bluetooth Discovery requirement)Required by the Android operating system to perform Bluetooth scanning. VahanScan does NOT track or store your geographical GPS location.

AUDIO / Text-to-Speech (TTS)Used exclusively to read repair guides and multimeter testing values aloud in Hindi and English for hands-free workshop operation.

4Offline Storage & Diagnostic Logs

All 1,000+ trouble code guides, multimeter testing parameters, and repair steps are stored 100% offline directly inside the application package. Raw OBD command logs generated during diagnostic sessions are stored locally in your device's internal storage and are never uploaded to any remote server without your explicit consent.

When you choose to export or share a diagnostic report via WhatsApp or SMS, the report is shared directly through your device's native share dialog.

5Data Security

We implement industry-standard encryption and safety protocols to ensure that all local diagnostic logs, Bluetooth communication sessions, and user configuration preferences remain secure against unauthorized access.
