1Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the VahanScan mobile application or website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). These terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you (“User”, “Mechanic”, or “Vehicle Owner”) and Ltrands Technologies Private Limited.
If you do not agree with any portion of these Terms, you must discontinue using the application immediately.
2Scope of Service & Diagnostic Utilities
VahanScan provides diagnostic tools and informational references intended to assist automotive mechanics, garage technicians, and vehicle owners in reading vehicle telemetry, diagnosing fault codes, and measuring sensor electrical parameters.
- Reading standard OBD-II (SAE J1979 / ISO 15765-4) and heavy commercial (SAE J1939) engine parameters.
- Displaying Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and descriptions.
- Executing Mode 04 diagnostic trouble code clearing (MIL reset) upon explicit user request.
- Providing reference multimeter testing ranges, wiring pinouts, and audio voice assistance.
3Hardware Compatibility & User Safety Guidelines
1. Commercial 24V Vehicles: Users diagnosing 24V commercial trucks (Tata, Ashok Leyland, Eicher, BharatBenz) must ensure their ELM327 scanner is 24V-rated or use a 24V-to-12V step-down protector cable. Ltrands Technologies Private Limited is not liable for scanner damage resulting from connecting 12V-only dongles directly to 24V vehicle ports.
2. Distracted Driving: Do NOT operate or interact with the application while actively steering or driving a motor vehicle on public roads. Telemetry monitoring must be conducted safely by a passenger or while the vehicle is parked.
4Diagnostic Disclaimer & Mode 04 Reset
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), sensor electrical values, and suggested repair procedures provided within VahanScan are for reference and troubleshooting assistance. They do NOT replace physical mechanical examination, proper tool calibration, or certified workshop safety standards.
Clearing trouble codes (Mode 04) resets the ECU Check Engine Light and readiness monitors. If the underlying mechanical or electrical fault is not physically repaired, the vehicle ECU will re-illuminate the Check Engine Light upon drive cycle completion.
5Intellectual Property Rights
All software algorithms, user interface designs, logos, graphics, audio synthesis soundscapes, and DTC encyclopedia compilations in VahanScan are the exclusive intellectual property of Ltrands Technologies Private Limited and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.
6Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ltrands Technologies Private Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including vehicle mechanical breakdown, hardware damage to third-party ELM327 dongles, or lost workshop revenue arising out of the use or inability to use the application.
7Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
