Step-by-Step Repair Guide
- 1.1. Check coolant level and bleed air bubbles from radiator reservoir.
- 2.2. Unplug ECT sensor; measure 5.0V reference on Pin 1 with ignition ON.
- 3.3. Set multimeter to 20 kΩ: Measure resistance across sensor pins (2.0 kΩ – 3.0 kΩ at 20°C).
- 4.4. Dip sensor tip in warm water; resistance must decrease smoothly to 250 Ω – 400 Ω at 80°C.
- 5.5. If sensor reads OL or resistance does not change with heat, replace ECT sensor.
