Multimeter Testing Specifications & Pinouts
- Power Pin (VCC)
- 12V DC (Ignition ON across Heater Pin + Ground)
- Signal Pin
- 0.10V – 0.90V rapidly oscillating when engine is warm
- Ground Pin Continuity
- Chassis ground continuity (< 0.4 Ω)
- Coil / Heater Resistance
- 6.0 Ω – 14.5 Ω at 20°C (Cold test)
💡 If heater resistance is Open Loop (OL / ∞), heater element is broken.

Step-by-Step Repair Guide
- 1.1. Disconnect O2 sensor coupler; clean pins using contact cleaner spray.
- 2.2. Set Multimeter to 20V DC. Measure 12V ignition power on heater pin.
- 3.3. Start engine, warm up for 3 mins. Measure signal wire: voltage must oscillate between 0.1V and 0.9V.
- 4.4. Measure sensor heater resistance (pins 3 & 4) across contacts — should be 6.0 Ω to 14.5 Ω.
- 5.5. If voltage remains flat (0.0V or 1.1V+), replace O2 sensor & clear DTC using VahanScan Mode 04.
